Rafi flies a red kite by the river. Laila and Amir watch. The kite has blue stars on its tail.
রাফি নদীর পাড়ে লাল ঘুড়ি উড়ায়। লাইলা আর আমির দেখছে। ঘুড়ির লেজে নীল তারকা আছে। রাফি বলে, “দেখো!
Rafi flies a red kite by the river. Laila and Amir watch. The kite has blue stars on its tail. Rafi says, “Look! The stars make a pattern.”
রাফি নদীর পাড়ে লাল ঘুড়ি উড়ায়। লাইলা আর আমির দেখছে। ঘুড়ির লেজে নীল তারকা আছে। রাফি বলে, “দেখো! তারাগুলো একটা নকশা তৈরি করছে।”
Suma runs up with a paper. She points to marks on the kite. “This looks like a map!” she says. The friends crowd close to see.
সুমা কাগজ নিয়ে দৌড়ে আসে। সে ঘুড়ির চিহ্নগুলোর দিকে ইঙ্গিত করে। “এটা তো মানচিত্রের মতো!” সে বলে। বন্ধুরা কাছে জড়ো হয়।
They count the blue stars. There are 5 stars in a line and 3 in a circle. Amir draws the shapes on the paper. Laila says, “Maybe the shapes show places.”
তারা নীল তারকাগুলো গোনে। সারিতে ৫টা তারকা আর বৃত্তে ৩টা। আমির কাগজে ওই আকারগুলো আঁকে। লাইলা বলে, “হয়তো এগুলো জায়গা দেখায়।”
They follow the river path on the map. The map points to the big mango tree by the pond. Rafi says, “Let us go and check!” They walk together, stepping over stones.
তারা মানচিত্রে সেই নদীর পথ অনুসরণ করে। মানচিত্রে পুকুরের পাশে বড় আমগাছ দেখায়। রাফি বলে, “চলো গিয়ে দেখি!” তারা একসঙ্গে পাথর পেরিয়ে চলে।
At the mango tree they dig gently under a flat stone. Laila lifts the stone. There is a small wooden box! Everyone smiles wide. Suma says, “We found it!”
আমগাছের নিচে তারা আস্তে করে একটি সমতল পাথরের নিচে খোঁড়ে। লাইলা পাথরটা তোলে। একটা ছোট কাঠের বাক্স আছে! সবাই আনন্দে হাসে। সুমা বলে, “আমরা পেলাম!”
Inside are old sticker stars and a note. The note says, “Share and play with friends.” Amir reads it aloud. They clap and put the stickers into a pile to share.
ভিতরে পুরনো স্টিকার তারকা আর একটা নোট আছে। নোটে লেখা, “ভাগ করে বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে খেলো।” আমির সেটা জোরে পড়ে। তারা তালি দেয় এবং স্টিকারগুলো ভাগ করে নেওয়ার জন্য একসঙ্গে জড়ো করে।
They hang the red kite in the tree to remember the day. Rafi smiles and says, “Our map brought us here.” They walk home together, happy and proud.
স্মরণে রাখার জন্য তারা লাল ঘুড়িটা গাছে ঝুলিয়ে রাখে। রাফি হেসে বলে, “আমাদের মানচিত্রই আমাদের এখানে এনেছে।” তারা খুশি ও গর্বিত হয়ে একসঙ্গে বাড়ি ফিরে যায়।
