The Moon goes around Earth. As it moves, we see different parts of the lit side. That makes the Moon look different each night.
চাঁদ পৃথিবীর চারদিকে ঘোরে। ঘোরার ফলে আলোকিত দিকের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন অংশ আমরা দেখি। তাই রাতের পর রাতে চাঁদ ভিন্ন দেখায়।

When the Moon is opposite the Sun, we see a full circle. When it is to the side, we see a half. When most of the lit part faces away, we see a thin crescent.

Try it at home with an adult: in a dark room, use a lamp as the Sun and a ball as the Moon. Hold the ball and walk slowly around a person who is Earth. Watch how the lit part changes.
